Getting Manchester Moving is a project designed to encourage and support Manchester people to get more physically active, eat more healthily and in some cases to lose weight.
The campaign is supported by your local NHS Community Trust, Manchester City Council and Manchester City Football Club. |

Swimming is even more fun now it’s free!
Manchester City Council has ‘taken the plunge’ and opted in, providing under-16s and over-60s with free swimming all year round.
|
The Government’s £140 million free swimming programme has been designed to extend opportunities to swim and to maximise the health benefits of wider participation in swimming.
You can swim for free at any local leisure centre pool, including Wright Robinson Sports College.

Bike Unite for Children 2009
The inaugural Bike Unite for Children ride will see the New Manchester Children’s Hospital Appeal join forces with Liverpool’s Alder Hey Imagine Appeal to raise money for the two hospital charities.
The ride is taking place on 28th June. It is 37 miles and sets off from the Lowry Plaza in Salford Quays where riders will travel along the Bridgewater Canal onto the Trans- Pennine trail before finishing in Calderstones Park Liverpool where we will be having a bit of a celebratory party!
Registration is £35 and can be done online by following this link: Click on the attached application form below to book for Bike Unite 2009. We are asking riders to try and raise £100 sponsorship but this is just a suggested target.
